KEITH R.A. DeCANDIDO
Keith R.A. DeCandido has written dozens of novels, short stories, eBooks, comic books, and nonfiction books in the media universes of Star Trek (in all its incarnations, as well as some new ones), Spider-Man, X-Men, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda, Farscape, Warcraft, Resident Evil, Xena, Young Hercules, Magic: the Gathering, and many more.
His most recent books are Star Trek: Articles of the Federation, a political thriller chronicling a year in the life of the Federation president; Star Trek: Tales from the Captain's Table, an anthology of stories featuring assorted Trek captains from Archer to Riker; I.K.S. Gorkon Book 3: Enemy Territory, the latest in Keith's Trek series focusing on the franchise's most popular aliens, the Klingons; and Ferenginar: Satisfaction is Not Guaranteed in Worlds of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Volume 3, part of the ongoing saga that continues DS9 after its final episode.
His other work ranges from the high fantasy police procedural Dragon Precinct to the first-ever novels based on the TV shows Farscape (2001's House of Cards) and Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda (2003's Destruction of Illusions) to the Star Trek novels Diplomatic Implausibility, Demons of Air and Darkness, The Brave and the Bold Books 1-2, The Art of the Impossible, and the USA Today best-seller A Time for War, a Time for Peace. He's written short stories for the tenth-anniversary anthologies for both DS9 (Prophecy and Change) and Voyager (the forthcoming Distant Shores), as well as the Star Trek: New Frontier anthology No Limits, edited by Peter David. His Warcraft novel Legacy will be published in early 2006, and his short fiction has appeared in Amazing Stories, Did You Say Chicks!?, Farscape: The Official Magazine, The Ultimate Hulk, The Ultimate Spider-Man, The Ultimate Silver Surfer, Untold Tales of Spider-Man, Urban Nightmares, and X-Men Legends.
He's written two novels featuring Spider-Man: 1998's Venom's Wrath and the forthcoming Down These Mean Streets, due in September. Keith has also written several novelizations, most recently that of the long-anticipated Joss Whedon film Serenity, also due in September. Past novelizations include Gargantua, Buffy the Vampire Slayer: The Xander Years Volume 1, Darkness Falls, and both Resident Evil movies. His nonfiction includes helping put together Buffy the Vampire Slayer: The Watchers Guide Volume 1, as well as contributions to Finding Serenity: Anti-Heroes, Lost Shepherds, and Space Hookers in Joss Whedon's Firefly, The Red Sox Fan Handbook 2005 edition, You Did What?: Mad Plans and Great Historical Disasters, and For Yankee Fans Only!
As an editor, Keith has put together over a dozen anthologies, notably the Nebula Award nominated Imaginings: An Anthology of Long Short Fiction (2003) and the popular Trek anthology Tales of the Dominion War (2004). He also edits the montly Star Trek: S.C.E. series of eBooks chronicling the adventures of the Starfleet Corps of Engineers, a series he also co-developed. He's written several eBooks in the series as well, which reached its landmark 50th eBook in the spring of this year.
